Thoughts abound, many threads around for too long. Gazing up from my bunk bed growing up, I wondered. How to sort them out, to make sense? … Writing seems to be the answer, I hope, a little voice told me. What is life, what is God, where did we come from, where are we going to, are we real, how to excel, what to do, how to lead, how to solve problems, how to raise children, money, relationship, the past, the future, hopes, dreams, regrets, life, death, the present moment …
I don’t talk much; ideas in my head flashing by too fast to be translated into coherent words. Writing slows me down, lets me organize. I need to put them down hopefully for the benefits of others, for my loved ones.
The world has changed, is changing, faster and faster. Basic principles are still the same, anchors that hopefully we can still use as compass to navigate our lives with. Physical and spiritual realms are governed by the same principles, computer science and biological science are similar in nature. Who designed them so beautifully and elegantly? Is free will the coin with love and sin engraved on the two sides that is the root of all joy and suffering?
Speaking out is frightening, it makes one and one’s loved ones vulnerable. Being afraid is the most protective force, the most damaging force. Taking the first step in this journey may seem trivial but is monumental to the one taking it. It marks the transition from 0 to 1. It may open a window, or a flood gate. Only time will tell.
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
